EP 03 - Asian Chameleon

Project Name

Chameleons definitley are one of nature's most bizzare creatures. I have been watching them since childhood on natural history shows and each time they have fascinated me. I always though my best chance to film them would be somewhere in Madagascar but to my surprise, one day I found that we do have one species of Chameleon is Pakistan!

EP 04 - Striped Hyena

For me Hyenas have always conjured up images of African savannahs. Never did I think that I would encounter them in a desert here in Pakistan. As a film-maker I would have been more than happy to just catch a glimpse of this elusive beauty. But what I got to see was something I would never have believed let alone film.

EP 07 - Streak-throated

Swallows

Project Name

I’ve always been fascinated when animals actually benefit from our human activities. Watch how these tiny birds build their colonies within our own neighborhoods. Not surprisingly they have some of the same challenges we do living in such close quarters!

EP 08 - Feathered Families

Of course, Pakistan doesn't have a rainforest, but when I was a kid, this patch of land was as close as I could get to one. I was always fascinated with what I could find in the the trees and streams of my local forest. A nesting pair of Indian Paradise Flycatchers, a White-throated Kingfisher male with a serious nuptial gift learning curve ahead of him. Even the smallest of the bunch, a Common Kingfisher, has a lot to learn in this episode.

EP 09 - Golden Marmot

Project Name

Anyone visiting Deosai has a good chance of encountering Golden Marmots. To be honest, at the first glance they appear boring, just standing by their borrows doing nothing. But they are highly social and intelligent animals. For instace to protect themselves from predators one of them takes on the duty of a sentry. Raising thatfamiliar high pitched alarm call when it spots any danger. Their design is special too. Did you know they have incisors that keep growing through their lifetime?
